Know where AI pays. Before you pay for it.

We look at how your business actually runs, find where the hours and moneyare being lost, and build AI around the way you already work.

Most businesses know AI can help…

But don’t have clarity on where to start and what’s worth exploring.

Nearly every owner we speak to is in the same position, and…

That’s where we start.

We show you the areas worth exploring in your business, and which ones make sense to start with first.

What we see across NZ businesses, daily.

To give you an idea of what can be addressed, these are the ones we see most often. Yours may be different.

Manual document handling

What happens

Invoices, dockets and forms arrive, and someone retypes them manually into your system.

Slow replies to enquiries

What happens

Someone enquires, and nobody replies for hours, if not days. By then they’ve gone to 4 other businesses.

Quotes with no follow-up

What happens

A quote is sent and never followed up. These are people who were interested enough to ask for a price.

Missed calls nobody returns

What happens

The phone rings when everyone is busy, or after hours, and most people just go to the next business.

Messy shared inbox

What happens

The inbox is all over the place. What matters gets buried under the routine, and replies slip late.

Repetitive paperwork by hand

What happens

Written up manually every time. The same process, over and over.

Chasing clients for information

What happens

Clients send details and documents. Something is always missing, so someone chases and the work waits.

Inactive clients in the database

What happens

Potential buyers sit inactive in your database. Following up with all of them manually isn’t practical.

Invoices nobody chases

What happens

The invoice is out and nothing comes back. Chasing is awkward and eats time, so it slides and the money sits.

How we work.

Three stages. The first one decides whether the rest are worth doing.

01DiagnoseThe AI Diagnostic

Find what’s worth building.

  • 1Discovery call

A 45-minute call with a key member of your business, to understand how it runs and where the hours and money are quietly leaking. We may speak with other team members if it makes sense.

  • 2Opportunity analysis

We turn what we found in the call into a strategic report, including our insights and each opportunity, ranked by effort and impact.

  • 3The strategic report

We walk you through the findings and the implementation roadmap, and if it makes sense, a working prototype of what we’d build.

    What’s inside?
02Build

Built safely, to fit your business.

  • 1Scoping and planning

What it does, what it connects to, and what success looks like, all agreed before any building starts. You hear from us at every checkpoint.

  • 2Development and integration

Security is what we build around. Our in-house engineers connect it to the systems you already use, with only the access it needs and your data protected throughout.

  • 3Testing and implementation

It’s tested against real work before anything touches your live tools and systems. Once you’ve seen it work, we deploy it.

03Enable

Made part of your business.

  • 1Team walkthrough

A walkthrough for the people who will use it, so they’re comfortable with it from day one.

  • 2The user guide

A simple guide for your team on how to use it and what it connects to.

  • 3Monitoring and improvement

Once it’s live, we monitor it and keep improving it, so you keep getting the value it was built to deliver.

Why TrueLabs exists.

In more than 100 engagements with NZ businesses across various industries, the underlying problems are the same. But no two businesses work the same way, so plenty of AI is being used, and very little of it moves the needle. TrueLabs AI does it the other way round: our team starts with how your business runs, then our in-house engineers build AI around it.

Founder

Aryan founded TrueLabs AI in Auckland. He runs every AI Diagnostic himself and stays the one point of contact throughout the relationship. He also leads sales and operations across TrueLabs, and our two in-house engineers design, build and test every system, and continue to refine it, so it gets sharper over time.

FAQs

Why start with an AI Diagnostic instead of just building something?

Because most AI projects that start with building do not pay off. MIT found 95% of AI projects deliver no return on investment, usually because a generic or off-the-shelf tool was used, or no one took the time to understand the business first. That understanding is what the diagnostic is for.

MIT, State of AI in Business, 2025

What does the AI Diagnostic cost?

The AI Diagnostic is valued at $2,700: that is what we quoted when an industry body asked us to run the diagnostic across its members. We are not charging for it, because we would rather see if it is the right fit first. That is what the intro call decides: whether running one makes sense, and sometimes the honest answer is that it does not.

AI hasn’t worked for us in the past.

That happens more than people admit. From what we have observed, there are two main reasons: a generic, one-size-fits-all tool was used, or no one took the time to really understand the business first. The diagnostic exists to catch both: if there is nothing worth building, we say so, and nothing goes further.

How do you handle data and security?

Every system only gets the access it actually needs, nothing more, and your data stays protected throughout. Privacy and access are planned before anything is built, not after, and everything is tested against real work before it touches your live tools and systems.

Do you understand my industry?

Every business thinks their situation is unique, and they are right. What we have found across more than 100 engagements with NZ businesses is that even within the same industry, no two businesses run the same way. That is exactly why we do not walk in assuming we know your business. We learn yours specifically, then combine it with our expertise in AI to find what is actually worth doing.
